Curricular Practical Training (CPT) gives international students authorization to gain relevant employment experience by working in paid internships positions in their major. Student participating in CPT will work with their academic advisors and International Programs to ensure that their proposed employment position meets all CPT requirements and will enroll in the appropriate internship course for their major.

Students must have a written job or internship offer before they are able to obtain CPT authorization.

Students must be enrolled in an approved internship credit course at LC State before receiving CPT authorization.

Complete the CPT Request Form.  This requires an advisor signature and confirmation of enrollment in the appropriate internship credit course. Submit this packet to the International Programs Office.

If applicants meet all requirements, they will be approved for CPT for (up to) a period of one semester at a time.  You will receive a new I-20 from the International Programs Office with CPT authorization.
