LEWISTON, Idaho – For the second consecutive year, the Lewis-Clark State College Foundation and Alumni Association will participate in #GivingTuesday, a global initiative aimed at harnessing the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. It is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, following the widely recognized shopping days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Occurring this year on Dec. 1, #GivingTuesday looks to inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
As part of its #GivingTuesday efforts, LCSC will provide a special opportunity for individuals to make a year-end donation to a scholarship or campus program of their choice.
“With the increasing size of the student body comes a need to expand fundraising efforts to better support students pursuing professional-technical and four-year degrees at LCSC,” said Erika Allen, executive director of the LCSC Foundation. “Giving Tuesday provides alumni, donors, and community members an opportunity to simply go online and make a donation to LCSC in an area of their choice. All donations to the LCSC Foundation and Alumni Association are tax-deductible.”
Those interested in joining the LCSC #GivingTuesday initiative can visit www.lcsc.edu/giving. The Foundation Office can be contacted directly at 208-792-2457.
