Title IX Team Training
LC State is dedicated to providing a process for our community that is free of bias and a conflict of interest for those serving as the Title IX Coordinator, investigator, decision-maker, or any person designated by LC State to facilitate an informal resolution process.
All individuals that are a part of our Title IX Team have received training on:
- The definition of sexual harassment;
- The scope of LC State's education program or activity;
- How to conduct an investigation and grievance process, including hearings, appeals, and informal resolution processes, as applicable;
- How to serve impartially, including by avoiding prejudgment of the facts at issue, conflicts of interest, and bias
Furthermore, those serving in a decision-making role have received training on any technology to be used at the live hearing and on issues of relevance of questions and evidence, including when questions and evidence about the Complainant's sexual predisposition or prior sexual behavior are not relevant. Additionally, individuals who serve as an investigator have received training on issues of relevance to create an investigative report that fairly summarizes relevant evidence.
