Dual Credit Teachers
Each approved Dual Credit instructor partners with a Lewis-Clark State College faculty member (liaison) who provides guidance and support in curriculum alignment, teaching strategies, academic resources, etc. The LC State Faculty Liaison will also conduct classroom observations to ensure program quality and course alignment.
Early College Programs remunerates the school districts for each course which has been formally articulated and approved based upon student enrollment as of the last working day in October (Fall semester) and the last working day in March (Spring semester).

High school instructors teaching Dual Credit must offer courses that match the on-campus courses in philosophy, curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment. Therefore, all teachers are responsible for the following -
- Work with the assigned LC State Faculty Liaison to ensure course alignment.
- Participate in annual discipline-specific Dual Credit professional development.
- Submit a new syllabus to the assigned Faculty Liaison prior to the beginning of each year.
- Coordinate with the assigned Faculty Liaison to schedule classroom observations.
- Review class rosters on WarriorWeb and notify the high school counselor or Early College Programs of all discrepancies.
- Encourage students to complete online Student Course Evaluations.
- Submit final grades via WarriorWeb by the appropriate deadlines.
All Dual Credit teachers will have their classroom observed by their Faculty Liaison once per year. Additional visits may be scheduled at the discretion of the Faculty Liaison. Site visits should be collegial and allow for student interaction and a review of graded materials. Team teaching and/or other cooperative efforts are also encouraged.
Site visits are designed to observe course content, delivery, and student interaction in an effort to ensure alignment with the on-campus course. They are not used by high school administration in evaluations of teaching performance.
The Dual Credit teacher and Faculty Liaison must each sign a Course Observation Form following the site visit.
Early College Programs provides the opportunity for LC State faculty and high school teachers to work jointly by sharing methods, ideas, and experiences. LC State faculty are encouraged to participate as guest lecturers in the high school classrooms. Further, high school teachers (and students) are welcome to visit campus classes/labs.
Discipline Specific Professional Development
Lewis-Clark State College and Early College Programs are proud to offer annual professional development, scholarly activity, and collegiality for our Dual Credit partners. Teachers must participate in this college-sponsored, annual professional development each year. A division-approved, alternate professional development activity may be used. However, such activities should be presented in rare circumstances. Further, it is the responsibility of the teacher to provide the instructional division with the title, description, event material, and date of the alternate activity.
* Failure to participate in two consecutive professional development activities will result in a notice to the teacher and principal.
* Failure to participate in three consecutive professional development activities may result in the cancellation of Dual Credit agreements and/or the decertification to offer Dual Credit courses.
Further, teacher non-compliance issues relative to Idaho State Board of Education or National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) standards may also result in the cancellation of Dual Credit courses/agreements.
Center for Teaching and Learning
The CTL supports faculty in their endeavors to enhance their teaching and the student learning experience. The Center provides opportunities for faculty at all grade levels to reflect upon their practice through inquiry groups, discussions and workshops that promote teaching excellence and support student success.
LC State Library
Dual Credit teachers have online access to eBooks, over one hundred licensed databases, streaming video, newspaper articles, government information, and more. For more information, contact the Library at (208) 792-2396 or library@lcsc.edu.
WarriorWeb is the online portal to the LC State student information system. As a faculty member, it is the tool used for grade submission, roster confirmation, etc.
The National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) Curriculum Standard 2 notes that Dual Credit courses “reflect the learning objectives, and the pedagogical, theoretical and philosophical orientation of the respective disciplines.” As such Dual Credit syllabi “must include the college’s name, course title, course number, course description, and any required syllabus policy elements”.
Syllabi should provide information on expectations of level of rigor, learning objectives, course objectives, or performance level descriptions.
