Teacher Qualifications

All degrees and graduate credits must be from regionally accredited institutions.

Exceptions may be petitioned and may be approved if there is a satisfactory combination of teaching experience and degree/coursework as assessed by the appropriate faculty liaison and division chair.

Instructors who do not meet preferred credentials may be assigned additional oversight and/or professional development opportunities related to the course or discipline.

Be a Registered Nurse with an unencumbered, current Idaho license and;

Have evidence of 2 years of experience as an RN with one of those years working in Long Term Care; OR

Have evidence of 3 years of experience working as an RN with 2 of those years in Long Term Care or working with chronically ill (of any age) in Home Health, LTC, or acute care;

Have documentation of completion of an instructor development course; Train the Trainer course; or equivalent;

Receive State approval
