Program Overview & Requirements
Secondary teacher program candidates who are earning their bachelor’s degrees pursue two goals at the same time: (1) A bachelor’s degree in a discipline, and (2) a teaching license in a subject that includes that discipline.

Other Key Assessments & Qualifications:
Admission to the Secondary Teacher Education Program requires:
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
- GPA of 3.0 or better in academic major coursework
- Grade of "C-" or better in ED 214 & ED 224
- Grade of "B-" or better in the other program coursework taken by the time of application
Completion of the Secondary Teacher Education Program and qualification for teaching licensure requires:
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
- GPA of 3.0 or better in academic major coursework
- Grade of "B-" or better in all major and program coursework
- Proficient professional performances in authentic settings
- Evidence of appropriate dispositions of a teacher
- Completion of Professional Portfolio and Performance-Based Assessment
- Passage of Exit Interview
- Completion and Review of all LCSC requirements for graduation
- Completion and Review of all Idaho requirements for certification
