Consortium Agreement
To receive Federal Financial Aid while attending two schools for the same semester, a Consortium Agreement must be completed.
LC State Home Institution
- Apply/reapply for admission to LC State with Admissions if you haven't already.
- If you are not a current student at the other institution (host institution), you need to apply/reapply for admission as a non-degree seeking student.
- Federal aid may only be disbursed through one institution per semester. As an LC State degree seeking student, LC State is the home institution (the other institution is the host institution) and your financial aid is administered by LC State.
- Apply for admission and submit a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by March 1 to be considered for the maximum amount of LC State financial aid. LC State's Federal FAFSA school code is 001621.
- Your LC State and other institution credits will be combined to calculate enrollment. You must have at least 3 credits at LC State to receive financial aid from LC State. Students who qualify for institutionally-funded scholarships from LC State must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 LC State credits.
- Complete a Consortium Agreement Form if you are registered less than full time at LC State.
- You are considered a non-degree seeking student at the host institution. Please contact their Registrar's Office for policies regarding the number of credits you are allowed to register for and the maximum credits you can receive without declaring a major.
- After you receive an admission letter or email from the host institution, view class schedules and register for your classes.
- If you are taking a class at the host institution that requires a prerequisite, you must bring a copy of your LC State unofficial transcript to the host institution to verify you have satisfied the prerequisite.
- Please note that students are required to pay fees to the host institution and LC State separately.
- LC State fees can be paid at the Student Accounts Office or on WarriorWeb. They must be paid by the 5th day of classes (for Fall and Spring semesters). Please contact the host institution to find out fee payment deadlines and payment options.
- Professors at the host institution will need to confirm your participation via email to finaid@lcsc.edu before funds are posted to your Student Account. The email should include your name, course title and date of class participation
- LC State tuition and fees will be paid prior to any disbursements.
- You must successfully pass at least 6 credits at LC State in order to remain in compliance with SAP.
- You must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
- You must earn passing grades in at least 67% of the credits listed on your transcript.
- You must not have exceeded the maximum number of credits allowed for your degree.
