
2nd Annual LC State Idita-Walk Challenge
Teams of four LC State employees will race to outpace the Iditarod sled dogs to Nome by earning miles through various wellness activities. Every healthy habit gets you closer to the finish line.
The challenge runs from March 3, 2025 - March 14, 2025.

- 10,000+ Steps = 20 Miles
- 6,000 – 9,999 Steps = 15 Miles
- 4,000 – 5,999 Steps = 10 Miles
- 2,000 – 3,999 Steps = 5 Miles
- >2,000 Steps = 0 Miles
- Intentional 30 Minute Workout (i.e. elevated heart rate and increased effort – jog, lifting weights, etc) = 5 Miles (UNLIMITED)
- Attend a Warrior Wellness Walk on 3/4 and/or 3/13 = 5 Miles
- Beat the lead sled dog team to the Kaltag-1 checkpoint (456 miles) = 10 Miles
- Beat the lead sled dog team to the Unalakleet checkpoint (866 miles) = 10 Miles
- Drink 64 oz. of water per day = 5 miles
- Certificate signing - Stop into the HR Office to sign the thank you certificate for our sponsors! This can be done once per team member over the second week of the race = 5 Miles per team member
