The Affordable Care Act has been in the news as of late and on Friday, October 18, a presentation at Lewis-Clark State College titled "Affordable Care Act Basics for Small Employers" will offer information on the impacts of the new law.
The presentation by Mike MacDowell of Troy Insurance takes place at 10 a.m. in Meriwether Lewis Hall, Room 100. It is sponsored by the Idaho Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at LCSC.
Topics include: how the Affordable Care Act impacts those who are self-employed, small employers, and their employees; how the exchange works; implications for employers who currently provide insurance and those who may consider providing it; decisions faced by those employers getting close to the 50 FTE number; who will be required to have insurance coverage and how to find out how much it will cost.
A $30 donation to the Idaho SBDC at LCSC is suggested.
To pre-register and for more information contact Region II SBDC Director Barbara Leachman at baleachman@lcsc.edu or 208.792.2440.
