Adult Learning Center offers free classes for new GED test

LEWISTON, Idaho - The LCSC Adult Learning Center offers free classes for adults who want to prepare to take the new 2014 GED test.

The new GED test was developed from the ground up to measure high school equivalency and to provide information about a test-taker’s college and career readiness.  The test focuses on measuring higher level critical-thinking and problem-solving skills and is the only test fully aligned to state and national college and career readiness standards.

The score report for the new tests provides detailed feedback on more than 100 knowledge and skill points, which GED Testing Service says is essential for educators, employers, and colleges to better understand a person’s strengths and weaknesses.  Numerous stakeholders representing adult education, higher education, K-12, workforce groups, employers, and others provided input on development of the new GED test.

GED preparation classes are offered in Lewiston, Grangeville, Moscow, and Orofino.  For more information, call the Adult Learning Center at 792-2238 or email Donna Callahan, Adult Learning Center Director, at DCallaha@lcsc.edu.
