LEWISTON, Idaho - The Lewis-Clark State College Jazz Band will perform a spring concert on Tuesday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Silverthorne Theatre on the LCSC campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
Traditional big-band jazz by composers Sammy Nestico, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, John Williams, Tom Kubis, and Pat Williams will be performed. Vocalist and LCSC nursing student Sekayi Sumbureru, a recipient of the national Downbeat High School Award, will be featured.
The LCSC Jazz Band comprises community and student members and is a nine-time winner of the Open Division of the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. The 18-member band performs regionally for schools and community events.
