LEWISTON, Idaho – An “Imagine Your STEM Future Conference for Girls” will be held on Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the campus of Lewis-Clark State College.
The event introduces girls to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) role models through workshops featuring engaging hands-on activities designed to motivate girls to be innovative and creative thinkers. It is presented by LCSC’s Center for New Directions and the Girls Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.
LCSC Associate Professor Heather Henson-Ramsey, chair of the Natural Sciences and Mathematics Division, will serve as the guest speaker for the event which is funded by the Idaho Division of Professional Technical Education.
The conference is open to all girls grades K-12 for a fee of $10. Those who register on or before April 29 receive a discounted price of $5, and all registrants receive lunch and “SWAG bags.”
