LCSC to host State Board of Education Oct. 19-20

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College will welcome the Idaho State Board of Education (SBOE) and administrators from Idaho colleges and universities to campus for a two-day meeting on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 19-20, at the Williams Conference Center.
Wednesday’s opening session begins at 10 a.m. and will feature a progress report from LCSC President J. Anthony Fernandez that will touch on a number of topics including LCSC’s proposed capital projects and strategic plan, and the school’s continued growth in enrollment and degrees awarded. A campus tour will follow and will offer board members a chance to see capital project locations and meet with LCSC students.
“It is our pleasure to host the State Board of Education,” Fernandez said. “We look forward to this opportunity every year and value the strong relationships we have with board members and administrators from sister institutions.”
The meeting on Wednesday will continue into the afternoon with work and executive sessions planned from 1-5 p.m. On Thursday, the board’s general session will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an hour adjournment for lunch.
