LEWISTON, Idaho – Paintings from the Idaho Watercolor Society are on display in two exhibits through Nov. 30 at the Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History, located at 415 Main St. in Lewiston.
The 37th annual Idaho Watercolor Society Juried Membership Exhibition is a collection of 20 award-winning paintings that have been on display throughout Idaho since June. Lewiston is the final stop on the tour, which has included stops at Boise, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls and Pocatello.
In addition, the Idaho Watercolor Society Showcase exhibit features paintings from IWS members from across the state. IWS is a non-profit organization that promotes the use of watercolor media and also awards three annual scholarships to art students at higher education institutions in Idaho.
An artists’ reception for the two exhibits will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 1-3 p.m. in the Center’s second floor galleries.
The exhibit at the Center is made possible through sponsorship from Inland 360 and grant funding from US Bank, Idaho Commission on the Arts, and National Endowment for the Arts.
The galleries at the Center are open 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.
