LEWISTON, Idaho – The Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History, located at 415 Main Street, opens its “Reclaim Revolution” exhibit on Friday, Oct. 6, at 5 p.m. The opening is part of Beautiful Downtown Lewiston’s Art Walk and will be on display until Oct. 21.
The exhibit features work from artists of various mediums, including reclaimed objects or works themed “Reclaimed, Remade or Inspired by Steam Powered Victorian Futurism.” Artists include Patrick Broemling, Rose Graham, Jill Hosmer, Tim Kaufman, Calen Martin, Bradley McDonald/13 Crows Art LLC, Rob McKirdie, Teri Ockwell, Judy Parry, John Patterson, Gregory Raye, Bradford John Ellis Sanders/Renegade Garage, Kelley Sanford, Liz Taylor, Myndie VanHorn, Beau Wakefield, and Erick Wassmuth.
“Reclaim Revolution” closes with its 4th Annual Steampunk Ball: Steam-Powered Superheroes, a multifaceted event for all ages, taking place Saturday, Oct. 21, from 6-9 p.m. in the Center for Arts & History galleries. It will include live entertainment, Tea Dueling, Kids Group Invention & Maker’s Station, costume contests and more. The Center’s third gallery has been converted into a steampunk inspired interactive puzzle room. The “STEAMroom” leads people through an adventure of discovery using science, technology, engineering, art and math to solve the puzzle. All participants who complete the puzzle are entered in a drawing to win prizes from Lost Key Escape Rooms. Reservations can be made by calling 208-792-2447. This activity is appropriate for all ages and can accommodate one to five people. The cost is $10 per person or five for $40.
Steampunk Ball tickets are $20 and $15 for students and Center members. Center members must purchase tickets at the Center to receive the discount. Tickets are available at the Center for Arts & History, the LCSC Student Union Building, Hogan’s Pub, The Blue Lantern Coffee House, and online at www.lcsc.edu/cah. All proceeds support Youth Arts Programming at the Center.
The exhibition is brought to the Center for Arts & History by sponsorship from Inland 360 and grant funding from US Bank and artsIDAHO. The Steampunk Ball is sponsored by the Silverthorne Artist’s Series and event donors Hardware Brewing Co., LLC and Revolution Trucking, LLC.
