LEWISTON, Idaho – The 5th annual LC Cares Food and Toy Drive at Lewis-Clark State College is underway and will run through Dec. 12 to help those in need in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley.
The drive is put on by the LC Cares Committee at LCSC. The committee is composed of faculty, staff and students at the college and its mission is to help those in need around the holidays or in a disaster situation.
Anyone wishing to donate can bring nonperishable food items and unwrapped new toys and place them in a donation box. Donations boxes are located in all buildings on campus, including in Sacajawea Hall, College Advancement, Reid Centennial Hall (Admission’s office), Sam Glenn Complex, the Activity Center, the Administration Building (Small Business Development Center), the Center for Arts & History, the LCSC Tennis Center, the Library, Meriwether Lewis Hall, the LCSC Book Store, the Mechanical Technical Building, Wittman Complex, Thomas Jefferson Hall, Student Union Building, and the Workforce Training office in north Lewiston.
Monetary donations also are being accepted. To donate money, contact Julie Lorentz in the LCSC Community Programs office, located in Room 211 of Sam Glenn Complex. The office phone number is 208-792-2282.
On Dec. 13, the donated items will be delivered to the Idaho Food Bank, the Asotin Food Bank, Community Action Partnership, the YWCA, and the LCSC Food Pantry for LC students in need.
