LEWISTON, Idaho - The Lewis-Clark State College athletic department has scheduled auditions for national anthem singers and musicians on Thursday, April 26, to perform during the 62nd annual Avista NAIA World Series on May 25-June 1.
The tryouts, at LCSC's Harris Field from 4-6 p.m., are free and open to the public. Winners and participants from previous years are encouraged to audition again. Performers do not need to register ahead of time, but must know the words to the United States national anthem and be able to sing in front of as many as 5,000 people at an Avista NAIA World Series game.
At the event, all contestants will be asked to fill out a brief information sheet before either singing or playing the national anthem. Singers will perform without music, unless accompanied by musicians.
Various LC officials will serve as judges. Contestants will be informed of the judges' decisions the following week. Some performers who are not selected to sing during the Series may be invited to perform at LCSC home athletic events during the 2018-19 school year.
In case of rain, the tryouts will move indoors to the Activity Center, located next to Harris Field.
