LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College is offering ACT preparation courses on Wednesdays during the month of May to help high school students prepare for the ACT test,
The classes will be held at 6-8 p.m. each Wednesday in Meriwether Lewis Hall Room 220. Each class will focus on a different subject and has a cost of $15 each week. The schedule is May 2: English, May 9: reading, May 16: Math, May 23: science, and May 30: writing.
The purpose of the ACT test is to measure a high school student's readiness for college, and provide colleges with one common data point that can be used to compare all applicants.
Pre-registration is required for the ACT preparation courses. To pre-register, print and fill out the registration form located at www.lcsc.edu/student-counseling and take the form to the LCSC cashier’s window on the main floor of the Administration Building between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. during the weekday. The $15 can be paid there with cash, check, debit, or credit card. Registration can also take place over the phone by calling 208-792-2351 during 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays, but the registration form must be emailed ahead of time to counseling@lcsc.edu or faxed to 208-792-2453.Payments must be made two days prior to the session.
The last opportunity to take the ACT this year is June 9 and the registration deadline for this test is May 4. Students can register for the test at www.actstudent.org. Fee waivers are available for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. Otherwise, the test costs $46.
