LEWISTON, Idaho – Workshops on the business model canvas and an easy business start are the January offerings by the North Central Idaho Small Business Development Center at Lewis-Clark State College.
The “Business Model Canvas and Value Proposition” workshop will be held on Jan. 24 at 9-11:30 a.m. at the North Central Idaho SBDC office, located at 406 Main St. in Lewiston. The fee is $25 and the workshop will be taught by Barbara Leachman, the director of the North Central Idaho SBDC. The workshop will discuss the nine block approach that will help attendees describe, design, or pivot a business model. The workshop will cover customers and the value a business provides to them and how to reach them. It also will cover research, testing, evaluation, and making good decisions about business starts, pitches, and growth.
The “Easy Business Start” workshop is Jan. 31, also at 9-11:30 a.m. and at the North Central Idaho SBDC office. Leachman will be the instructor and there is a $25 workshop fee. Participants will learn how to make a new business start easier by getting the right information up front. Learn and understand concepts, projections, research, feasibility factors, licensing, taxing, and raising capital. The workshop also will cover important checklists, plan templates, links, steps, and resources before investing time and money.
