LEWISTON, Idaho – The 9th annual Art of Giving Send Hunger Packing Food Drive is currently taking place on the Lewis-Clark State College campus.
The event is usually held in conjunction with Art Under the Elms, but because AUE was cancelled this year from a lack of vendors, the food drive is being held separately. The event runs through Tuesday.
People wanting to contribute can do so two ways – either by dropping off food at designated spots in the Normal Hill area of Lewiston or making a financial contribution online. Click on the LCSC Fund, choose the amount you want to give, and click next. When filling out the gift details, enter Art of Giving in the comment box. Volunteers also have placed plastic bags with flyers on them in front of Normal Hill houses for food, baby items and toiletries. Those bags are scheduled to be picked up around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The event will benefit the Asotin County Food Bank, Community Action Partnership, the Nez Perce Tribe USA Food & Nutrition program, St. Vincent de Paul, and the LC Warrior Food Pantry.
For more information on the food drive, contact the Art of Giving committee chair, Leif Hoffmann, at lshoffmann@lcsc.edu.
