LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College will host the 8th annual “Dream It, Do It…Here!” Youth Conference on Tuesday, May 14, on the LC State campus. The event will run from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. with most activities taking place in the P1FCU Activity Center.
The conference is expected to draw over 500 students and 50 counselors from 36 schools in North Central Idaho and Southeastern Washington with the primary goal of connecting students with regional career opportunities.
During the conference, students register for three featured industries that interest them and are also placed in random sessions for additional exposure to various careers. The conference includes employer-led, hands-on breakout sessions, where LC State recruiters and instructors, along with representatives from Walla Walla Community College, University of Idaho, and Washington State University, provide information about local job market career pathways.
LC State plays a lead role on the event planning committee, which includes representation from Clearwater Economic Development Association (CEDA), University of Idaho, Nez Perce Tribal Education Department, Idaho Food Bank, Southeast Washington Economic Development Association (SEWEDA), and Port of Whitman.
