LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College’s Native American, Minority & Veterans Services will be holding two events open to the public in recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Day on Oct. 14. The events will be held at various campus locations throughout the day.
Kicking off the celebration will be an Indian Taco Sale in front of the Student Union Building/Center for Student Leadership (by Dok’s Coffee Shop) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. An Indian taco and drink will cost $7 and fry bread will cost $3.
From 3-4:15 p.m. a discussion about the importance of Place Names and the Nez Perce Language Signage Project at LC State will take place in Sacajawea Hall, Room 115. Nez Perce language faculty members Harold Cook, Angel Sobotta, and Thomas Tátlo Gregory will be speaking at the discussion. The discussion is free and open to the public.
