LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College will hold a Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in its library parking lot. The lot is near the intersection of 7th Avenue and 5th Street in Lewiston.
The event, which is free and open to the public, allows for the safe disposal of unused or expired medications. Those turning in medications are asked to leave medication in its original container. On the container, leave information about the drug, but black out any personal information such as patient names.
Medications that will be accepted include prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, pet medications, vitamins, and supplements.
Syringes, needles, liquids and inhalers will not be accepted. No refunds for medications will be given.
The event is sponsored by the Student Counseling Center, LC State Health & Wellness Committee, and the Lewiston Police Department. LC State nursing students will be assisting during the event.
