8th annual Moore Honorary Lecture scheduled for Nov. 18

LEWISTON, Idaho — Lewis-Clark State College will host its eighth annual Moore Honorary Lecture on Monday, Nov. 18, at noon via teams and in person 

The guest speaker this year is Ingeborg Toemmel (Universitaet Osnabrueck, Germany) and the topic will be “Super Election Year 2024: What’s next in the EU, US & Beyond?”  

“Ingeborg Toemmel, Ph.D., is professor emeritus in International Politics and Jean Monnet Chair in European Politics at the University of Osnabrueck (Germany),” said LC State political science professor Leif Hoffmann. “Earlier she held positions at the Universities of Berlin and Nijmegen (The Netherlands) as well as visiting professorships in Canada and Egypt. 

“Her research focuses on European integration and domestic change; the EU as a political system; Governance and policymaking in the EU; Comparative politics and governance.”

The Moore Honorary Lecture honors former LC State political science professor Richard Moore and his contributions to the college. Moore worked at LC State for 27 years, 1978-2005. He mentored several students and chaired the Faculty Senate and Faculty Association twice, and the Social Sciences Division for eight years, and was interim chair for the Nursing & Health Sciences Division. He also served as acting dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.
