LEWISTON, Idaho — A pop-up film exhibit entitled “#monalisa” directed by LC State faculty member Jennifer Anderson and Vernon Lott will be on display at the Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History from Jan. 21 through Feb. 15.
The exhibit encourages viewers to contemplate human behavior as it relates to the consumption of art, such as the traditional Mona Lisa painting.
“Filmed on a GoPro consumer camera, #monalisa (2020) is an interrogation of the relationship between art and technology,” said Anderson. “...the film invites viewers to slow down and observe. It turns visitors to the Louvre, specifically the room where the Mona Lisa is kept, into works of art themselves.”
An artist talk featuring Anderson, which is free and open to the public, will be held Feb. 7 from 5:30-7 p.m.
The cinematography work on #monalisa was done by Nandan Rao, and score work was done by Peter Broderick and David Allred. The program is brought to you in part through funding provided by the Center for Arts & History.
The Center for Arts & History gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, and 12-4 p.m. on Saturday. To learn more about the exhibit and center visit www.lcsc.edu/cah.
