LC State to Idaho State Pathway
The Partnership. LC State is proud to partner with ISU to help meet the vital health care education needs of Idaho, and to offer students a pathway to a fulfilling career as a Physician Assistant (PA). The partnership was launched in 2023 (see announcement).
The Demand. According to the Idaho Department of Labor, Physician Assistants are in the top 10 on the Hot Jobs list for north Idaho, and ISU offers the only Physician Assistant studies program in the state.
The Delivery.The LC State-ISU partnership gives LC State students the opportunity to complete undergraduate coursework at the LC campus in preparation to apply for the ISU PA program. LC State is working in collaboration with ISU to establish new experiential (clinical) rotations at sites throughout northern Idaho.
The Degree. The PA program at ISU awards a Master's of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree and a PA certificate upon successful completion of its 24 month graduate curriculum.
