Women's & Gender Studies
Enhance your critical thinking skills and better understand how gender intersects with race, class, nationality, ability, and identity.
Women’s and Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary minor that examines the many ways that sex and gender emerge in different contexts (political, economic, legal, social, and cultural). Courses in the minor will examine competing theories of gender and feminist thought and place them in their historical and contemporary contexts. This minor provides a critical lens through which to view larger social forces and how gender can shape individuals, groups, ideas, culture and cultural practices, and societal institutions. Classes in the minor will enhance students’ critical thinking skills and their understanding of how gender intersects with race, class, nationality, ability, and identity.
