Certification and Licensure Exams
The LC State Testing Center contracts with several vendors to provide certification and licensing exams. If the exam you need is through a vendor we currently are not contracted with, please contact us to see if we can assist with your exam.
Parking passes are required to park in campus parking lots during the school year. Call 208.792.2100 or email testing@lcsc.edu to request a single day parking pass, there is no fee. You will need to print the parking pass and place it on your dash. There is parking also available on the street, however some parking is for residents only, signs are posted in these areas.
As of 11/15/2023 the LC State Testing Center is now a testing site for ASE certification exams. All exams are scheduled through the ASE website. These exams are offered several times a month. If you are having difficulty finding a date to test please contact the LC State Testing Center 208-792-2100 as we can add dates if space is available.

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)

There is a $25 proctoring fee payable to LC State for all Certiport Exams. Please pay the cashier in the Administration Building.

When can I take the CNA written test?
- We will verify with documentation from Workforce Training that you have passed the Skills Test prior to scheduling a CNA Written Test.
- You have 12 months after completing the CNA Training to get your CNA Certification.
- You have 3 attempts within that 12 months to pass the CNA Written Test.
- CNA Testing is offered Monday through Friday
- Appointments are required, seating is limited.
How much does the CNA written test cost and where do I pay?
- The total cost of the CNA written test is $50.
- $21.00: Pre-pay online with credit or debit card or at the Cashier's Window with cash or check in the hallway of the Administration Building before arriving to take your test.
- $29.00: Pay at the time of the test on the computer. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express cards are accepted.
- If the oral version of the test or extended time is required, please speak with the Testing Center staff about this when scheduling. Approved accommodations must be on file. Additional fee may apply.
What do I need to bring for the CNA written test?
- Receipt for the $21 pre-payment - if paid to the cashier
- If paid online, a receipt has been emailed to the Testing Center
- Valid, physical government issued picture ID
- Social Security card or have number memorized
- Credit/Debit card for the $29 fee on the computer - Visa, MasterCard or American Express only.
- IMPORTANT!!! - You must bring your social security card, or have your social security number memorized. This is required for test registration.

When do I get my CNA written test scores?
- You receive a copy of your results immediately after completing the test.
- Your results will be electronically delivered to Prometric within two business days and your name will be added to Idaho's Nurse Aide Registry the next business day.
- Your registry certificate will be mailed to your address after your name is added to the registry.
- If you have not received your certificate 3 weeks after your testing date call Prometric Customer Service at (888) 843-234

Through ETS, the LC State Testing Center proctors several exams:
- Praxis Exams: The Praxis tests are taken by individuals entering the teaching profession as part of the certification process required by many states and professional licensing organizations.
- Praxis exams are paid for and scheduled directly through the ETS Praxis registration webpage
- Testers must bring valid, government issued picture id for check in
- Appointments must be scheduled at least 3 business days prior to the day you want to test.
- Currently the LC State Testing Center offers Praxis exams on Wednesday mornings at 8:30am, with a check-in time of 8:00am with 9 seats available for scheduling. The days or times are subject to change. Current openings will be found when registering for your exam with ETS.
- GRE Exam: Entrance exam for many graduate school programs
- The LC State Testing Center offers the computer-delivered GRE General Test.
- The GRE exam is paid for and scheduled directly through the ETS GRE registration webpage
- Testers must bring valid, government issued picture id for check in
- TOEFL Exam: English-language proficiency exam
- TOEFL exams are paid for and scheduled directly through the ETS TOEFL registration webpage

The Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licenses offers the Drinking and Waste Water Certification Exams at college testing centers throughout Idaho.
Once a candidate receives the approval letter from the State they will need to make an appointment. Appointments must be made by calling the Testing Center at 208-792-2100.
The fee for each exam is $25. This fee is pre-paid by the tester. This can be done:
- Cash or check at the cashier window in the Administration Building the day of your test
- Pay online with credit or debit card.
- Under payment type chose: IBOL Waste/Drinking Water ($25).
- No payment will be taken at the Testing Center.
Testers will be provided scratch paper, pencils, and a binder with the necessary formulas and tables for the test. Testers can bring their own basic calculator.
The day of testing testers must bring the following to their appointment:
- testing approval letter from the State - we will collect and keep this letter
- valid, current government issued picture id
- receipt for the $25 payment:
- if paid to the cashier you will be given a receipt to bring
- if paid online a receipt has been emailed already to the Testing Center
ISCET, the International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians is a nonprofit association of certified technicians, chartered in 1965, that assists students and experienced techs by offering training, education, and certification exams that will help you attain your personal and professional goals.

There will be a proctoring fee of $25 for all testers not part of the LCSC Electrical Program.
Kryterion offers many certification and credentialing exams through a wide variety of Test Sponsors.

- Registration
- Kryterion Exams are scheduled directly through each exam sponsor via Kryterion’ s Webassessor platform. To register for an exam, log into your test sponsor’s Webassessor portal. Visit your test sponsor’s learning management system, or its certification/testing program page to find the portal link.
- After you have completed your registration you will receive a Test Taker Authorization Code via email along with confirmation for your scheduled testing date/time, and the testing center location.
- You must bring the Test Taker Authorization Code to your testing appointment.
- Reschedule
- If you must reschedule your exam you may do so by logging in to your test sponsor’s Webassessor portal under the My Assessments tab. You will click the Reschedule button and follow the prompts.
- Admission
- Test takers must register at least 24 hours in advance.
- Check in at least 30 minutes before test appointment to be admitted.
- Test admission requires a Test Taker Authorization Code and proper identification.
- You are required to present two (2) forms of identification, one must be a government-issued photo ID that includes your name, signature, and a recent recognizable photograph. The secondary ID can be any document with your full name. You must have proper ID to be admitted.

Testers will follow instructions for registering for their test from their specific test sponsor.
All testers are required to bring a current, valid government issued picture id and the printed confirmation email.
The Idaho State Department of Agriculture contracts with Metro Institute for online, computer-based testing. Information for finding a test site, creating an account, and registering for a test are found on the Metro Institute ISDA webpage.

The ETS ParaPro exam is offered at the LC testing center.
The cost for the ParaPro exam is $80. This fee is paid only in person to the LC campus cashier in the administration building.

Pearson VUE Authorized Test Centers are privately owned, third-party testing facilities which provide on-site, on-demand testing for certification and professional licensure exams.
How do I schedule a test with Pearson VUE?
Visit the Pearson Vue website and search for your test program in the Ready, Set, Test search box. On your test program page Log in or Create Account right-hand side of the page and complete the necessary fields to schedule your exam. Upon confirming the booking, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Pearson VUE. At a minimum, this confirmation will contain information such as the time, date and location of your test, including directions to the test center.
How do I reschedule a test?
Visit the Pearson Vue website and search for your test program in the Ready, Set, Test search box. On your test program page Log in or Create Account right-hand side of the page and complete the necessary fields to reschedule your exam.
How do I cancel a test?

What happens if I forget my Pearson VUE username and/or password?
Click on the sign-in page relevant to your program and select either ‘I forgot my username’ or ‘I forgot my password'. Provide the details required and you will then be able to recover your username and/or reset your password.
What if I have a problem?
You can contact Pearson VUE’s customer service center and choose your relevant program and region.
How early should I arrive at the test center on the day of my test?
Typically, you are asked to arrive 15-30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will give you an opportunity to check-in and relax prior to beginning your test. The amount of time you are asked to arrive at the center before your scheduled appointment time differs for each program. You will receive a confirmation email with program-specific information.
What happens when I arrive to take an exam?
When candidates arrive for an exam, they go through a standard admissions process. Candidates are asked to provide two forms of identification, to agree in writing to a set of exam rules and to sign a log sheet. In most cases, your photo and signature will be digitally captured as they would appear on your results report. Some exam sponsors may have other identification or check-in requirements. Please review Pearson VUE’s privacy policy.
What ID do I need to bring to the test?
Typically, you are asked to bring two forms of identification, including one government-issued photo identification. Some test programs may have additional requirements. The items you are asked to bring differs for each test program. You will receive a confirmation email with program-specific information.

PSI is a vendor for a variety of certification and professional licensure exams. LC State Testing Center partners with PSI for many exams, including FAA exams. Registration for PSI exams is done through the PSI website. Please carefully review any communications received from PSI after scheduling to ensure you have proper id, additional identification documents, and test approval documents as needed and are familiar with the rules of your exam before your exam date.

The LC State Testing Center is pleased to offer PST candidates the option to have a remote test done at our testing center. There is a fee of $25 for this exam, paid to our campus cashier. Information for remote testing can be found on the Public Safety Testing Website on the Testing at an approved Testing Center webpage.

The ServSafe Food Manager Exam can be scheduled through Pearson Vue, or directly with the LC State Testing Center. Please contact the LC State Testing Center prior to purchasing anything from ServSafe.
Pearson Vue Scheduling
- You must purchase Testing Center Access for Pearson Vue from the ServSafe website. There are two options
- (Insert link to option 1) - You can purchase online course and TC access
- (Insert link to option 2) - You can purchase TC access only
- You will either log in to an existing Pearson Vue account or create a new account and register for your test.
- When you chose the LC State Testing Center as your testing location the dates and times the test is available will be shown.
- Please read your scheduled exam confirmation email carefully so you know what to bring with you the day of your appointment.
LC State Testing Center Scheduling
You must purchase exam access on the ServSafe website. There are several options on the ServSafe website which include an online course, an online course with exam, or just the online exam code or voucher.
- When you are ready to test contact the LC State Testing Center to schedule you exam.
- In addition to the fee you pay ServSafe for your exam code/voucher, a $25 proctoring fee will be paid to LC state.
- This fee is paid to the campus cashier in the Administration Building the day of your test.
- Please contact the Testing Center to schedule a minimum of 2 business days prior to the date you want to test.
