Getting Started at LC State

Welcome to LC State! We are excited you chose our school to continue your education. Our goal is to make the transfer process as easy as possible.

LC State has three amazing locations to best serve you. Our main campus in Lewiston, ID, our Outreach Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Online.

Start the Process

Applying at LC State is easy, free, and quick!

First, you’ll want to submit your application.

Tips when applying:

  • If you have at least 14 or more transferrable semester college credits you will apply as a Transfer Student.
  • Students who are pursuing a bachelor's degree will apply as an undergraduate.
  • You’ll be prompted to create an account to apply. This is not the application, but it is the portal where you will submit your application.

Your next step is to submit all official college and university transcripts from the schools you have previously attended (even if it was for only one credit).

Students with less than 14 transferable credits will need to submit a High School Transcript or their GED Scores.

You can order your college transcripts through the National Student Clearinghouse.

  • High School Transcripts can be requested through your high school Registrar's Office.
  • GED scores can be ordered online.

Transcripts can be sent electronically/through email to admissions@lcsc.edu or by mail to:

                         Lewis-Clark State College, Admissions Department

                                     500 8th Ave. Lewiston, ID 83501

You can submit all unofficial transcripts by uploading them to your Application Portal in the “Documents” tab! This can get you “tentatively admitted” (you can register for classes, but not receive financial aid).

What’s the difference between an Unofficial and an Official transcript?

  • An unofficial transcript is something that you can download on your own, usually through your student platform.
  • An official transcript is an official document that comes to us directly from the awarding institution. We must receive all transcripts from any institution you’ve attended to “fully admit” you, so you can attend classes and receive financial aid.
    • Official transcripts MUST come from the institution. If you had an official transcript come directly to you through the mail, DO NOT OPEN IT. This makes it unofficial and you will need to order another one.
    • You can bring unopened official transcripts to the DeArmond Building in Coeur d'Alene to be processed.

The DeArmond building is the LC State CDA hub for classes, events, student services, and study sessions.

The building has study nooks in between every set of classrooms as well as 5 reservable private study rooms that we call Teams Rooms. The Teams Rooms can be reserved on a first come first serve basis and they feature large whiteboards on every wall, movable tables, and peace and quiet.

If you are unable to snag a Teams Room, don't worry! Besides the NIC Library, the DeArmond building is one of the quietest buildings on the NIC campus. Most of the study nooks also have whiteboards as well as floor-to-ceiling windows that bring in lots of natural light.

While in the DeArmond building, you can stop by the Student Services Office to say hello or get assistance. We also keep the bulletin boards up to date with pertinent information on upcoming events, deadlines, etc.

The DeArmond Building is located at 901 W. River Ave Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815.

All LC State CDA Students will receive an newsletter to their WarriorMail accounts during the first week of every month. These newsletters contain important information about CDA-specific deadlines, events, resources, and the occasional giveaway.

You can view the Monthly Newsletters here.
